DIY natural face masks for every skin type (with 3 ingredients or less!)

Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin and often find your skin is red, itchy and irritated this simple recipe is  super calming, soothing and nourishing. The best part is; its only three ingredients, and its more than likely you will have them sat in your fridge/cupboard at home.

The Soothing One

Ingredients:

1/3 of a banana

1 Tablespoon milk

1 Tablespoon of oat flour

Start out by mashing your banana piece well, try to get it as smooth as you can. Next, mix the milk and oat flour together until you get a smooth paste. Finally add the mashed banana to the paste and mix everything together well.

Apply your mask to a freshly cleansed face. Sit back and relax for 15 – 20 minutes, then rinse the mask off and apply your face cream whilst your skin is still slightly damp, to lock in that moisture.

We find this face mask is great for soothing any redness and itchiness in your skin. It has a great anti-inflammatory effect and helps soothe and nourish. Milk and oat flour will eliminate any dull looking skin and refresh your complexion whilst the banana provides your skin with many nutrients & antioxidants leaving it well-hydrated and protected.

Breakout Prone Skin

If you are suffering from breakouts this calming and refreshing face mask will leave your skin feeling hydrated and soothed. The best part? Its only two ingredients!

The Calming One

Ingredients:

1 Peeled Cucumber

1 Tablespoon of natural greek yogurt

Firstly take your cucumber and puree it, leave the skin on. Then add the puree into your yogurt and mix well. Apply your mask to a freshly cleansed face and sit back for 15-20 minutes and relax. Rinse the mask away and apply any topical care treatments to your breakouts as usual.

Using fresh cucumber and yogurt straight from the fridge will create a lovely soothing and cooling affect to irritated and inflamed skin. Cucumbers also have anti-inflammatory properties that will tone and hydrate your skin. This mask is also great if you are battling acne scars from previous breakouts.

Dehydrated Skin

Dry and dehydrated skin is one of the most common skin complaints that most of us will suffer from at some point in our lives. This simple mask is only two ingredients and will leave your skin feeling nourished and hydrated.

The Hydrating One

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of honey (preferably Manuka)

1/2 ripe Avocado

Carefully cut your avocado in half removing the seed. Mash half of the avocado into a smooth paste then add your honey and stir well. Apply your mask to a clean face and sit back and relax for 10-15 minutes. Remove the mask with warm water and then apply your favourite nourishing moisturiser whilst your skin is still damp.

Avocado is an excellent ingredient to use for dry skin as its rich in many oils. In addition, honey is effective in treating dry skin and its related problems such as eczema. This ingredient also helps protect the skin from UV rays and makes the skin look younger and more hydrated.

Maturing Skin

After the age of 30 your collagen supply decreases. The good news is antioxidants present in coffee prevent the skin from ageing. These antioxidants limit the production of free radicals which are responsible for damaging the skin.

The Anti-ageing One

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon of coffee powder

2 Tablespoons of milk

Its our simplest mask yet! Mix together your coffee and milk to create a paste. Once well mixed apply to a freshly cleansed face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Rinse the mask away with cold water. Whilst your skin is still wet apply your eye cream and moisturiser to lock in the hydration.

The lactic acid in the milk can help improve skin appearance and its firmness. This mixed with coffee which has many properties that helps improve the appearance of ageing in the skin and firmness is a simple but highly effective DIY mask. We advise applying this mask twice a week.
